America’

Eric Gardner

SEATTLE, WA| Police have arrested a man accused of threatening a local woman and her baby because of their race and religion.

The incident took place on July 1 when the 25-year-old woman and her 6-month-old baby visited the Seattle Indian Health Board at 611 12th Ave. South, according to the statement of probable cause.

Investigators said Eric Gardner reportedly made derogatory comments such as,“You Muslim people scare people when you wear that clothing,” and “When I see a black woman, it makes me want to throw up.”

The alarmed mother said she asked him what was wrong, to which he responded, “I’m talking to you (expletive), Muslim people,” the document said.

Not All Muslims are Terrorists: Obama Addresses The Public April 7, 2010

By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer – Wed Apr 7, 6:46 am ET

President Obama in Cairo

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s advisers plan to remove terms such as “Islamic radicalism” from a document outlining national security strategy and will use the new version to emphasize that the U.S. does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terrorism, counterterrorism officials say.

The change would be a significant shift in the National Security Strategy, a document that previously outlined the Bush Doctrine ofpreventive war. It currently states, “The struggle against militant Islamic radicalism is the great ideological conflict of the early years of the 21st century.” Continue Reading

History of Hot Chocolate
There is a difference between hot cocoa and hot chocolate

The terms are often used interchangeably, but technically they are as different as Milk Chocolate and bittersweet chocolate. Hot cocoa is made from cocoa powder, which is chocolate pressed free of all its richness, meaning the fat of cocoa butter.  Hot chocolate is made from chocolate bars melted into cream. It is a rich decadent drink.

Head-Coverings in the Bible: Why Christian women ignore this and Criticize Muslim women? March 2, 2010

Many Christian women have been criticizing Muslim women for years because of wearing a head-covering and even go as far as calling us ‘oppressed’ by our husbands or families. Not even taking into consideration that we are doing this out of our own ‘free will’. I am not saying that all women or even all Christian women do this, but a vast majority call Muslim women ‘oppressed‘ for wearing a head cover. They seem to be oblivious of the fact that the Holy Bible tells them to cover their hair during prayer and worship. In all respect, I do find this a little hypocritical. I am not saying that if you don’t cover yourself you are not worshiping God, I am not saying that at all. Just don’t criticize Muslim women for choosing to cover their heads. Whether or not a Christian woman cover her head or not is none of my business, but they shouldn’t criticize Muslim women for wearing a head-covering.
